My background is in Illustration though I have been drawn to Modern Art, Abstract Art, etc. for quite a while. Growing up in the 1950-60's there were abstract and modern artists working and thriving...wonderful shapes and colors to behold and embrace. The art school I attended in Mexico, after graduating from college with a degree in Art and prior to working as an Illustrator, was actually my formal introduction to expressive and abstract art though I'd been working with or admiring this facet of art for years.
I enjoyed working in Commercial Art/Illustration even though that field typically means Representational Art/Images (though with many genres)...Commercial Art is a combination of expressive thinking and representational images, not abstract, with communicative goals - a wonderful world of professional creatives there.
And now I enjoy a similar imaginative process, but with abstract images communicating my thinking be it serious or whimsical…sometimes I add a bit of my writing…other times I enjoy quoting other’s high-minded thinking. Creating images and adding thoughts/words adds up to more info being expressed. Illustrating certainly highlighted this aspect for me.
Thank you for reading a little ABOUT me.
